Okay, let’s get straight into it, and start with one of my favorite types of accommodation…
New Hampshire Lodging at Inns and Bed-and-Breakfasts...
Inns and bed-and-breakfasts are so popular nowadays that I’ve got a special article devoted just to them.
This type of New Hampshire accommodation is smaller and more initiate than hotels, resorts, or the roadside motels.
Now please don’t confuse these inns with the chain type like Ramada and Days Inns. These country inns are as different from them as chalk-and-cheese.
Many of these inns and bed and breakfasts have age restrictions on children. And even those that do accept kids, if you've got a high-energy bunch then these places may not work for you.

Family Resorts and Ski Lodges...
Every popular for New Hampshire lodging are the resorts and ski lodges that cater for families.
The fact is a lot of places say they cater for families but all it means is you get a kitchenette, and they tolerate children.
Nice deal, right?
Well, here’s a few choices that really welcome and cater for families…
In the White Mountains region the Grand Mount Washington Hotel is now open all-year round thanks to its partnership with the Bretton Woods ski area. So not only can you still enjoy all the summer programs, but you get to do ski vacations there as well.
Summer programs include mountain biking, horseback riding, and fishing. And of course there’s miles of trails and the Mount Washington peak itself close by. Other activities include indoor games, arts and crafts, and special evening programs.
Close by is alternative lodging at Bretton Woods that includes inns and townhomes.

Also in the White Mountains region is the more casual Indian Head resort. Open all-year round it’s an ideal base location for skiing and other snow sports, but comes to life for kids stuff in the summer.
It has it’s own private lake and indoor and outdoor swimming pools. A large focus on games and activities for children make this a popular resort for families with young kids.
And just in case you hadn't heard...
The Waterville Valley Resort caters for families all-year round. A popular ski location in the winter with reasonably priced condo lodging available, the valley also has special summer programs.
Gourmet Dining Plus Superb New Hampshire lodging…

The Balsams Grand Resort Hotel is a little extra drive to get to as it's situated in the Great North Woods area of New Hampshire. But it’s probably one of the finest resorts in New England.
Renowned for its dining experience, food is of special importance and taken seriously at this resort - not stuffy, but jeans and T-shirts for dinner not recommended.
And after dinner you can lounge around in the library and choose something to read or take your own book.

Closer to the Mount Washington area and at Jackson Village is The Wentworth Inn. Formally known as the Wentworth Resort Hotel, elegant dining is a centerpiece of the inn, in addition to the deluxe rooms, and luxury condominiums.
New Hampshire Lodging on a budget…
There’s plenty of New Hampshire lodging to fit a budget conscious vacation for a week... or a weekend. In the White Mountains area you’ll find Comfort inns and Holiday inns at North Conway... and cabins and vacation rentals in the Woodstock area. Prices range from $100 - $200 for a room a night. The Lakes Region gets extremely popular in the summer, especially around the Lake Winnipesaukee area. Family resorts, cottages, and motor inns can be found in Laconia, Weirs Beach, Meredith, and Gilford. Expect to pay from $75 - $150 per room per night. Along the small seacoast region you’ll find Best Western, Residence Inn, and Comfort Inn, lodging at Portsmouth. Rates vary dramatically based on season and room, but expect to pay low end $70, and $250 per room a night at the top end during high summer season.
