Lantern Light Tours
at Mystic Seaport

Slip on some comfortable walking shoes and head out on one of the Lantern Light Tours on Christmas Eve 1876 at Mystic Seaport in Mystic, Connecticut.

Okay so it’s not really Christmas Eve 1876 but your guide will be role playing the period for you, so you can connect to that date...

And relive the magic of Yuletide celebrations from long ago.

Mystic Seaport undergoes a festive decoration for the Christmas season and you’ll have a chance to visit with the villagers...

And trade stories as you make your way to the local tavern.

You can watch as sailors make merriment and enjoy being landlubbers for Yuletide.

There’s a good chance you’ll see St. Nicholas – 1876 talk for Santa – on your way back riding in a horse-drawn wagon.

Dress warmly and be prepared to immerse yourself in Christmas Eve 1876 when life was a little simpler, and entertainment was based on friends, music, and a barrel load of good spirit.

The Lantern Light Tours last 70 minutes and operate on November 29-30, 2008 and December 4-7, 11-14, 18-21, and 27-28 between 5:00pm and 9:15pm.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $18 for children ages 4 to 18, the tour is not recommended for children under 4 years.

This is one of the more popular tours during the holiday season in Connecticut so make early reservations.

The Mystic Seaport is New England’s premier sailing museum. The museum is open each day and contains exhibits that chronicle the life of times of Mystic and New England during the heyday of whaling and sailing.
