Get Your Special Tree From A New
England Christmas Tree Farm Here …

There’s just something about the fragrance in the house of a freshly cut tree from a New England Christmas tree farm… and then decorating it with the family.

Yes, I know all about the pine needle mess, and the disasters of a “bad tree” that loses all its needles before Christmas.

Been there – had it happen!

But I’m betting you’re reading this because Christmas just wouldn’t be the same to you without a real tree in your home.

Christmas tree farm image It doesn’t matter if you’re a “Douglas Fir” or “Balsam” type, or any of the other species popular as a Christmas tree. You’ll find what you want - wherever you live in New England - in my New England Christmas tree farm guide.

Use this as a resource to discover the farms local to you and then get cutting… but do it soon after Thanksgiving before all the best ones go. Don’t do want to be left with the “runt” of the bunch do you?

Stay tuned for maintenance tips to keep your tree fresher longer.

Here’s Some Christmas Tree Maintenance Tips…

After you cut the tree, wrap it in netting to bring it home. This makes it easier to transport; protects the tree when you bring it in the house; and makes it easier when you put it in the stand. Most tree farms charge for netting it but its worth it.

When you get the tree home get the sap running again by making a second cut in the trunk above two inches. Put the tree in a bucket of tepid water for a few hours before you put it in a stand.

The tree stand should hole at least two gallons of water; the tree needs lots of water. A new tree put in a stand can drink up as much as 1 1/12 gallons of water in the first 24 hours.

Once the tree is up, make sure you continue to check and fill the stand with water. If you keep the tree watered, it can last four to six weeks. While plain water is fine some add on products offer extra protection from bacteria for the tree and prolong its freshness.
